Terenzi retakes leadership of Conservative Party
Sam Terenzi, a Village of Port Chester Trustee, has recaptured the chairmanship of the Town of Rye Conservative Party. Terenzi, who last led the party in the 1990’s, was re-elected to the post by the county’s district leaders in a reorganizational meeting of the Westchester County Conservative Party on Dec. 1.
Terenzi, 55, replaces Gene Branca, who took over the party after Terenzi in 1998. Terenzi lost the position that year after he took part in an unsuccessful coup against the county party’s leadership.
On Wednesday, Branca claimed he was still chairman of the town party. “I still am the Conservative Party chairman of the Town of Rye," he said. Branca said he would remain chairman until he was no longer recognized by the county party.....
