FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
USA BANK PITCHING IN
DONATION FOR EARTHQUAKE RELIEF
Port Chester, NY – (January 25 , 2010) – In response to the massive earthquake in Haiti, USA Bank announced today that it will be donating $500 to benefit the relief efforts.
The funds are being donated to one of the most respected relief agencies in the world, which also happens to be in the bank’s immediate market service area, Stamford-based AmeriCares.
“All of the employees of USA Bank have been deeply moved by the human suffering caused by the earthquake and our hearts go out to the people of Haiti,” said Ronald J. Gentile, President and Chief Executive Officer. “As is the case with many other businesses in Westchester and Fairfield Counties, we have an employee who is a native of Haiti with relatives impacted by the earthquake, so this tragedy also hits close to home for us.”
AmeriCares has been providing medicines and medical supplies to Haiti, including antibiotics that fight infections and pain medicines for survivors with broken bones, as well as other critically needed relief supplies.
“Our community bank has a history of providing aide to individuals in need and we feel fortunate that we are able to provide some help to the survivors in Haiti.”
