Town Republicans distributed an unfair campaign flier and made unsubstantiated accusations in a newspaper opinion letter, the county Fair Campaign Practices Committee has ruled....

.....Morabito said the complaints he filed with the committee were among many untruths lodged by the Republican campaign.

"We could have done a lot more than this, but I only gave them the most egregious complaints," Morabito said. "This campaign from the start is exaggerated and has explored various ways to get the message across without being held liable. … We just go to the point where we said enough is enough, and that's why we filed."
