10/26/07 - 2.02 % Of This Month's Port Chester Roundup's Visitors Come From The County Of Westchester

HEADLINE:

To Date Port Chester Roundup Has Had A Total Of 3,876 Visitors.

During The Last 30 Days Port Chester Round Had 1290 Visitors From 222 Network Locations

The County Of Westchester Network Was Ranked 6th And Connected 24 Unique Visitors To Port Chester Roundup In The Last 30 Days.

STORY:

Westcheter County employees love Port Chester Roundup.

We are not sure why so many Westchester County employees are spending so much time and viewing so many pages on Port Chester Roundup, but we certainly welcome them.

Maybe, Westchester District Attorney Investigators are trying to figure out why only a handful of people are getting Millions Of Port Chester tax dollars.

Or maybe County Of Westchester County employees just love reading an informative blog like Port Chester Roundup.

Let's face it Port Chester Roundup has once again beat the hopelessly biased rag known as the We$tmore $nooze.

Richard "The Rye Town Drama Queen" Abel and Bernie "I Forgot To Pay Over 100 Property Tax Bills" Abel do not sell 26 newspaper subscriptions to the County Of Westchester, but Port Chester Roundup has 26 unique visitors Westchester County readers.

SOON THE HOPELESSLY BIASED RAG KNOWN AS THE WESTMORE NEWS WILL BE RANKED #2 IN PORT CHESTER.

Richard "The Rye Town Drama Queen" Abel has often bragged that he has about 3,000 subscribers to the hopelessly biased rag known as the We$tmore $nooze.

Now let's assume "The Rye Town Drama Queen" is telling the truth about the 3,000 subscribers.

Now let's say that half of the 3,000 subscribers are from Rye Brook and half of the 3,000 subscribers are from Port Chester.

That would mean that the hopelessly biased rag known as the We$tmore $nooze has approximately 1,500 subscribers / month in Port Chester.

Currently, Port Chester Roundup has 1,290 visitors / month.

The hopelessly biased We$tmore $nooze is running scared, because they are looking in their rear view mirror and the see Port Chester Roundup coming at them at a fast and furious pace.
Let's face it most of the residents of Port Chester don't read or want to the hopelessly biased Westmore News. People who do read the hopelessly biased Westmore News need to get a life and have their head examined.
Why in the world would a single family homeowner in Port Chester pay 30 Bucks a year to a newspaper that was founded by Bernie "I Forgot To Pay Over 100 Property Tax Bills" Abel

That's why today, We$tmore $nooze editor Jananne "I Wish Bernie Would Just Pay His Damn Taxes" Abel personally wrote an article that refers to Brian Harrod ( The True Blue Conservative ) three times and refers to this blog an additional three times.

Now the front page article was only 27 paragraphs long and had six references to Brian Harrod or this blog. That works out to be 1 reference to every 4.5 paragraphs. And I would note for the record that 12 of the paragraphs in the front page article are only one sentence long.

The Abel's are running scared and starting to react to postings in this blog.
For two long years Jananne "I Wish Bernie Would Just Pay His Damn Taxes" Abel has basically ignored The teachers of Port Chester, because the westmore news did not want to upset the Republicans that control the Port Chester school board.

However, Recently the following story appeared in Port Chester Roundup
It was one of many stories about the corrupt school board and how they had treated Port Chester Teacher's over the last couple of years.
Now Today The Abel's finally stooped ignoring Port Chester's teacher's struggle against the Port Chester Board Of Education and put this story on the front page.....
TEACHERS, DISTRICT HOPE TO WRAP UP LENGTHY CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS SOON.

Well-Known mediator has aided discussions, says superintendent

Also, these stories recently appeared in Port Chester Roundup.

Now today the Abel's were forced report that the Republicans had been found by The Westchester Fair Campaign Practices committee to have used unfair campaign practices on three occasions. Moreover, two of the unfair campaign practices involved the Westmore News.

Also on the front page of today's Westmore News was....

GOP CAMPAIGN PRACTICES FOUND BY GROUP TO BE UNFAIR.

The single family homeowners are starting to say to I really want to give money to a newspaper that was founded by Bernie "I Forgot To Pay Over 100 Property Tax Bills" Abel.

The subscribers of the Westmore News are starting get tired of watching Richard "The Rye Town Drama Queen" Abel and his father on cable television.

Advertisers are starting to wonder if the should be associated with a hopelessly biased newspaper that is engaged in a vendetta that is alienating Port Chester residents.
Also, Westchester County Newspaper Publisher's have started to take notice at how fast Port Chester Roundup has grown. Two publishers have asked to meet with and met with Port Chester Roundup. Now a third Westchester county Newspaper publisher has sent an email to Port Chester Roundup, because they can not believe that a village of over 30,000 residents only has one weekly newspaper.
Many publishers are looking to come in to Port Chester and offer an alternative to the Abel's negative and biased reporting. The good news about Bernie "I Forgot To Pay Over 100 Property Tax Bills" Abel's vendetta is that Port Chester just might once again have a second or third news paper.
Tiny little Rye has three weekly newspapers. Why can't Port Chester have three newspapers.
Maybe we should encourage the Abel's to continue to keep using the Westmore News as a Bully Pulpit for their tax vendetta against the Town Of Rye, so that we can get a second or third newspaper.

Maybe, the residents of Rye Brook like the the hopelessly biased rag known as the Westmore News, but the residents of Port Chester are sick and tired of the greedy Abel's and the Westmore News .

Let The Abel's Know That you Have Had Enough Of Their Vendetta.

10/25/07 - County to Bond for $105 Million for Flooding, Legacy Program and other Capital Improvements.

Hopefully Port Chester Can Get Some Money To Cure It's Flooding Problem.

Mayor Dennis Pilla, Supervisor Robert Moribito And County Legislator Martin Rogowsky Need To Get Together And Lobby The County More Help With Our Flooding Problem.

Quote:

“The ravages of last April’s Nor’easter have made it clear that we need to act decisively to protect our communities from flooding,’’ said Spano. “Continued development and changes in weather patterns have left our communities more vulnerable than ever. Areas that never had problems before were devastated last April. Homes and businesses became uninhabitable. Some residents who could least afford it, lost everything. This is an issue that crosses municipal lines and we must focus on possible solutions together.’’ - Andy Spano

Story:

To that end, Spano held a Flood Summit last spring and appointed a Flood Mitigation Task Force to propose solutions. Funds set aside in the capital budget could be used to finance projects recommended by the task force. The amount to be spent on such projects in 2008 awaits the task force’s recommendations......

08/22/07 - Outside of Kohl's in Port Chester, some customers expressed alarm that the store reportedly still had been selling toys that were recalled

Kylie Clossom and daughter Miranda, 12, outside Kohl's in Port Chester

HEADLINE:

STORY:

The message that dangerous, recently recalled toys need to be pulled from store shelves apparently didn't get through to some local retailers.

Inspectors from the Westchester Consumer Protection and Health departments visited 20 retailers yesterday and reported that tainted toys still were being sold at four stores in the county: KB Toys on Central Park Avenue in Yonkers, CVS in Peekskill and Kohl's stores in Port Chester and Yonkers.

"These are reputable stores, and they should be getting these items off the shelves," County Executive Andrew Spano said. "They should be aware of this by now. That's what's so astonishing. If it was some mom-and-pop operation, you could excuse it. But these are major stores.".......

08/05/07 - Get Ready For A Whopping Sewer Tax Bill. Rogowsky, Who Has Taken A Lead On Sewage Plant Issues, Puts The Figure In The Hundreds Of Millions

HEADLINE

STORY

A state order for Westchester to upgrade its sewage treatment plants near Long Island Sound has led to a debate over whether the county should have to do it at all, and, if so, who would pay the bill.

The county has suggested ways to improve treatment at the plants, but at the same time, representatives of County Executive Andrew Spano have asked Gov. Eliot Spitzer for relief.

Deputy County Executive Larry Schwartz stressed that Spano is eager to help clean the Sound, but does not want to hit taxpayers with a whopping bill....

... Schwartz maintains that the four sewage plants that empty into the Sound - New Rochelle, Mamaroneck, Port Chester and Blind Brook - contribute less than 1 percent of the total nitrogen in the estuary, the element that leads to dead spots in the ...

August 03, 2007 Rye Brook, Westchester & Beyond

By White Plains CitizeNetReporter

The shocking, unexpected descent of the I-35 West Bridge (in Minneapolis, Minnesota) into the Mississippi River yesterday – which began life in 1967 – eight years after the Tappan Zee Bridge opened – should be a sobering wake-up fall to the Department of Transportation, the MTA and the New York State Thruway Authority and the Port of New York Authority bridgemasters, too -- as well as county leaders in Rockland and Westchester County.....

... as 170,000 vehicles daily. If nothing is done to relieve congestion in the I-287 corridor between Suffern and Port Chester, by 2030 traffic crossing the bridge will increase to 200,000 cars per day. Travel times are expected to grow significantly." ...

THE JOURNAL NEWS

The dramatic and deadly collapse of Minnesota's Interstate 35W bridge was a grim reminder of the fatal failure of a highway span less than five miles from Westchester.

Three people died and three were badly hurt when a 100-foot section of northbound Interstate 95 gave way over the Mianus River in Greenwich, Conn., early on June 28, 1983.....

... and flagged down a trucker who radioed for help. The bridge collapse also caused colossal headaches in nearby Port Chester, which was overrun with detoured traffic. Westchester officials directed truck traffic into Connecticut, only to have state ...

Letter To The Editor

This is truly local government at its best: an independent Playland study that will cost the taxpayers thousands of dollars only to be told what we already know. There is no accountability from County Executive Andrew Spano all the way down the chain of "politicos" and that the park is not safe.....

....It is merely luck that has kept this park from experiencing other tragic accidents and nothing else. What do you expect when you have a bunch of high school kids in charge of operations? Playland should be sold tomorrow to Louis Cappelli and or Donald Trump and stop the bleeding now. How about a nice golf course along the Sound? The county can screw that up, too, but at least no one will die!

Rye Brook Trustees Votes Condos for Konigsberg;

RFAC Considers Legal Action

Tuesday evening the Rye Brook Trustees approved Kip Konigsberg Bowman Avenue development. One of two things just happened: A. one of the most obvious flood mitigation opportunities just went down the proverbial drain; or B. the buyout price for the land just went way up for Rye City and Westchester County.

If government can’t organize itself a little better, that $50 million over five years Andy Spano set aside won’t mitigate very much.

MyRye.com received this update from the Rye Flood Action Coalition in reaction to the Bowman development:

It was not an unexpected setback for the Rye Flood Action Coalition. The development was approved after one of the Trustees tried to rationalize for 20 min. how she came up to her decision. It sounded more like an apology to us than an endorsement for the project........
