Whereas, The Westmore News has benefitted from Bernard Abel's failure to pay more than 100 Property Tax bills.

Whereas, The Westmore News is a hopelessly biased rag that fails to report about Bernard Abel's failure to pay over 100 pproperty tax bills.

Trustee Brakewood May Contest Board Of Trustee Resolution And Meeting.



STORY:



Port Chester Trustee Dan Brakewood says that the August 8th Meeting held at the mayors office, at 10 Pearl Steet, was illegal, because he nor the public was not notified of the meeting..



The meeting was for spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a new attorney for the Brody case. Mr. Brakewood said that this illegal meeting and resolution has the potential of giving the Village Of Port Chester millions of dollars of liability.



Trustee Brakewood, who is a strong open government advocate, said he was particularily upset that this resolution was passed without public input.


Port Chester Village Attorney Anthony Cerreto said he would resarch if the meeting and resolutions were void, because Trustee Brakewood and the public were not properly notified about the meeting.

Mr. And Ms. Abel of the Westmore News was notified 30 minutes, before the meeting occurred, but Port Chester's most influential newspaper the True Blue Conservative Review was not even notified about this meeting.

It is unclear if the Journal news received 30 minutes notice that a meeting was being held in the mayor's office at 10 Pearl Street.

STORY:


Port Chester Trustee Bob Sorensen went out of his way to once again commend the supposedly great job that Port Chester Building Inspector Lenny Cusamano is doing.


Hey Bob, just how many illegal apartments has Lenny Cusamano shut down while under Village Manager Bill Williams leadership.


I believe the number might be somewhere around

zero.

Someone needs to tell Trustee Bob Sorensen that only someone stoned out of his mind would look at all these illegal apartments in Port Chester and say that Port Chester Building Inspector Lenny Cusamano is doing a great job.

Instead of wasting more money on a three time legal loser like Rye City Republican Chairman Anthony Pisconere, lets hire a law firm to rid Port Chester of it's horrific building inspector.

Once we have a building inspector that will shut down illegal apartments, then Port Chester will finally be able to move forward.

If Port Chester Building Inspector Lenny Cusamano had spent the last five years shutting down illegal apartments then Port Chester probably not of had to suffer this embarassing Department Of Justice Voting Rights Case.

In my opinion, Lenny's failure to shut down illegal apartments has caused Port Chester tax payers to sheel out about $750,000 on this Justice Department mess.

The only way to get rid of all of these illegal apartments is to get rid of Lenny.

Tom Wolfe Does It Again.

A few months ago, Tom Wolfe published an amazing piece in Portfolio magazine (now available online) about hedge-fund managers — specifically, about why people who are so young and have made more money than God seem to be so angry and ill-mannered.

For a local example you might look at how Supervisor-Wanna-Be Joe Carvin acts at the Rye Town Board Meetings held at 10 Pearl Street in Port Chester.

It seems you can’t buy class.

Tom Wolfe, is one of America's best sociologists, because he writes about class and status. In "The Pirate Pose " we get an inside look at how hedge fund managers act and think.

Tom Wolfe has written about Wall Street types before in his best selling "Bonfire of the Vanities". He concludes that the Wall Street "Masters of the Universe" today are more bad mannered than ever.

This piece by Tom Wolfe is a good read for anyone who (1) likes Tom Wolfe's writing (2) is fascinating by the clash between new money and old money, or the clash between new money with mere human beings who get in new money's way; or (3) is as worried as I am about hedge funds.

With his usual vividness, Wolfe writes about the sociology of hedge-fund managers.

Tom Wolfe unloads the sort of wickedness of which only he is capable upon the deserving heads of the New Masters of the Universe - hedge fund managers!

A sample to give you a flavor of it:

"While fathers all over America tend to become overzealous, even violent, these days in trying to turn their children into little sports superstars, in Greenwich a father who is one of these people will try to take control of every element in a game: his child’s teammates, their coach, the opposing team’s coach, its players, and most definitely the referees. In a famous instance, one of these people came to watch his teenage daughter play in an ice hockey game against a team from neighboring Port Chester, New York, a town known in Greenwich as the place where one’s plumbers, electricians, computer swamis, roofers, glaziers, air-conditioning mechanics, wall-to-wall-carpet humpers, and household servants live. The man began bellowing so loudly, nobody at the rink could shut out the sound. He upbraided the referees for their poor eyesight and worse judgment. He told his daughter’s coach how to play her and all her teammates and kept him abreast of his mistakes in strategy. He scolded the Port Chester coach and the players for their incessant cheating and malicious roughness.

This is just like a Rye Town Board Meeting where Supervisor-Wanna-Be Joe Carvin will try to take control of every element in the public meeting: the press (Richard & Bernie Able Of The Westmore Snooze), a trustee (Billy Vilanova), the Republican Party, the Cablevision TV Video Camera , and will rudely interupt the Rye Town Supervisor, while trying to dominate the meeting.

Watching Supervisor-Wanna-Be Joe Carvin at a Rye Town Board meeting you get the feeling that he will say or do anything to gain control over disbursing property and school taxes. You wonder if bad things will come to Port Chester if the greedy one gains control of the Rye Town Board Of Trustees.

But this is not fiction a Low Class Greedy Hedge Fund Guy could soon be in charge of your property and school taxes.

The thing that most readers take away from Wolfe's piece is that the end is nigh. More precisely, things are cyclical, and the cycle is about to turn. Whenever a group of businesspeople feels so entitled, so superior, and--here's the main point--is so disconnected from actually creating value, I don't usually have to wait too long for their "uppance to come." Like NASDAQ millionaires before the 2000 crash, these people are making tons of money by convincing gullible people to pay them huge fees for outsmarting the market. In the long run, though, it never works. The money and expectations keep flowing in long after all of the real money-making opportunities have been snapped up; people let their greed get the best of them; and things end unhappily for anyone who doesn't get out in time.

Tom Wolfe is the best America has to offer on reporting about the human animal's fixation on status.

If Joe "The Greedy One" Carvin succeds in gaining control, you he will get the status that he is fixated on and the single family homeowners of Port Chester will get the huge tax increases

This election is all about Joe "The greedy One" Carvin trying to legitimize himself by grabbing status at the expence of single family homeowners.

08/06/07 - Police Dispatched To Port Chester Trustee John Crane's House

Port Chester Board Of Trustee's Meeting Canceled

STORY

The Port Chester Police were sent to Trustee John Crane's house when he failed to show up for the Monday August 6th Board Of Trustee's meeting.

Ms. Crane informed the police that her husband was stuck in court and could not attend the village board meeting.

The Port Chester Board Of Trustee's needed John Crane inorder to have a quorum to open the public meeting.

Mayor Dennis Pilla was forced to cancel the board meeting that included three public hearings and a resolution to retain the law firm of Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker to represent the village in an Eminent Domain action brought by William Broady.

An Executive Session about the William Broady Lawsuit was also cancelled.

Mayor Pilla, appoligized to the 50 to 60 residents who had came to the Port Chester Courtroom to attend and speak at the board of trustees meeting.

Mayor Pilla said, that the Public Hearings would be scheaduled as soon as possible.

Bruno "Makes Out Like A Bandit" Gioffree Wins Again

Single Family Homeowners Are Angry That Cicatelli's One Vote Defeated A Proposal That Could Have Given Our EMT's, Firefighters, Police Officers, Teachers And Village Employees Affordable Housing In Developments Comming To Downtown Port Chester.

At the last Port Chester Board of Trustees failed mayorial canidate Dominick Cicatelli rejected a resolution to add the downtown area to a 2004 law that requires affordable housing in buildings that have more than 10 units.

Mayor Pilla, Trustee Sorenson and Trustee Brakewood have long been pushing to expand the requirement to include downtown. But Cicateli's single dissenting vote denied the EMT's firefighters, police officers teachers and village employees the chance at afforable homes, because only four of five trustees were present; four votes were needed for passage.

Trustee John Crane left the meeting, before the vote that would have helped out Port Chester's first responders and teachers.

The 2004 law requires all new developments to have 10 percent of their units set aside for moderate-income families and is intended to benefit first responders and other lower-income professionals.

The law applies to individuals and families that make up to 80 percent of the county's median income level, or $77,200 for a family of four.

All Of Tho$e Donation$ To Chicateli'$ Campgain

In April of 2006 Dominick Cicatelli voted to let Bruno "Makes Out Like A Bandit" Giofree and FMB realty to transfer multiple residential lots to the Downtown C-2 zone, thus cheating first responders like firefighters out of 10 affordable homes.

Bruno and FMB reaped a benefit worth millions and the firefighters lost a chance at 10 Affordable homes.

Trustee Domenick Cicatelli, who cast the dissenting vote, made some stupid remarks that really meant that he felt it was unfair give first responders, teachers and village employees an affordable home in one of Bruno Giofree's developments, such as The Mariner.

After Dominick Cicateli stabed the first responders, teachers and village employers in the back he said he would support the requirement if it did not affect The Mariner.

The developer of The Mariner, FMB Real Estate Services of Harrison, donated $500 to Cicatelli's 2007 mayoral bid, but the village back stabber Dominick Cicatelli said that did not influence his vote.

Nor did all the money that Bruno "Makes Out Like A Bandit Giofree influence the back stabers one vote that crushed affordable housing for his fellow firefighters.

But most firefighters say Dominick Cicatelli is not a real Firefighter that put his life on the line, These firefighters say the backstabber Cicatelli is a member of the "Fork and Knife" Brigade.

Yes, Dom is big on going to funtions, while being unable to funtion as a real firefighter.

Sorensen Is So Right

Trustee Robert Sorensen, chairman of the village's affordable housing committee, summed up the whole disgusting situation by saying.

"I thought that the interests of the developer came before the interests of the village," Sorensen said.

Trustee Sorensen does not oppose luxury housing, but rightly argues that the village needs to provide for the family's of first responders and teachers.

Oppps....

The resolution would have succeeded if the vote had occurred before Trustee John Crane left the meeting early. The Week Before Crane said he had intended to vote in favor of the emergency responders getting affordable housing.

I guess he forgot about the EMT's, Firefighters and Police Officers. Maybe fellow lawyer Bruno "Makes Out Like A Bandit" Giofree gave Crane a call.

Hopefully, the village can move forward with affordable housing for first responders in the downtown as part of our master plan,

Let's just hope that Bruno "Makes Out Like A Bandit" Giofree and his development buddies don't propose another downtown developement that will cheat the first responders, teachers and village employees in the meantime.
