Port Chester Trustee Bob Sorensen and failed Conservative candidate Sam Terenzi have been telling local bankers they will be in charge of moving money around for the Town Of Rye.

All of Port Chester are shocked at how Supervisor Elect Joe Carvin's closest advisers have came to Town Hall the day after the election to gloat and attempt to throw their weight around the Town Rooms.

Everyone is saying that when Dennis Pilla or Larry Rand, became mayors their close advisers did not show up to the Village Rooms to act like vermin.

The whole town has seen how the Democrats have been a class act since the election results came in Tuesday Night.

The Democrats conceded the election and encouraged the residents of the town to rally around and support Republican Supervisor Elect Joe Carvin.

The Democrats have sent letters to the newspapers again encouraging Town residents to support Supervisor Elect Joe Carvin.

The Democrats have promised a smooth transition and the Rye Town Supervisor has promised to meet with the Rye Town Supervisor elect to consult with him about the budget.

But Four of Supervisor Elect Joe Carvin's closest advisers have came to Town Hall the day after the election to gloat and attempt to throw their weight around the Town Rooms.

The reason ex-Port chester Republican Chairman Janus "I Love A Racially Charged Campaign" Richards was called the "Boy Toy" was that I never seen a chiropractor with so little work.

I have often wondered if the rich Winnick's of Greenwich give the Boy Toy an allowance or something, because he just doesn't seem to be a very busy chiropractor.

As usual Joe Carvin spit out the usual recycled unfair and biased lies of Bernie Abel's Town Crier Column from the hopelessly biased rag know as the Westmore Snooze.

As usual Carvin was a loudly and obnoxiously continued the Abel's Tax Vendetta against the Town By making false and wild accusations.

And as usual Rye Town Supervisor Bobby Moribito refused to lower himself to Joe Carvin's level and be negative. Supervisor Moribito talked about the continued fight against the airport, the Legacy Field, the new trees planted in the park, the new walking trails at Crawford park, the new energy efficient lights to be installed at Town Hall, the possibility of new Senior Housing at next to the Legacy Park site, the new flood control plans, etc., etc.

But what Supervisor Moribito fails to understand is that everyone in Port Chester has heard Supervisor Wanna Be Joe Carvin and that wack job Richard Abel falsely say the Town is corrupt. These unfair claims need to be exposed as for what they are - LIES.

Lucky, Deputy Supervisor Michael Borrelli answered their unsubstantiated and false claims in a matter of fact and calm manner. It's about time that Carvin and the wacko Abel's were exposed in a public forum.

When the Republicans screamed about audits Deputy Supervisor Borrelli told them that the reason that you conduct an audit is that you are looking to find areas that you can improve on.

Deputy Supervisor Borrelli further explained that the auditors pointed out some problems with Sam "I Sure Am Sleazy" Terrenzi, the former Rye Town accountant and the Town Board got rid of him a couple of years ago.

Now, of coarse, the disgruntled Sam "I Sure Am Sleazy" Terenzi is a top 5 Joe Carvin individual campaign contributor and a close advisor (or should I say Liar) to Mr. Carvin.

Basically, Sam "I Sure Am Sleazy" Terrenzi has Joe Carvin blaming Supervisor Moribito for screw ups caused by Mr. Terenzi himself.

Deputy Supervisor Michael Borrelli correctly and truthfully pointed out that since Sam "I sure Am Sleazy" Terenzi left the Town the fund balance has been able to grow, while taxes have been cut two years in a row.

Three Cheers to Dominick Lagana for speaking up for the hard working Rye Town employees. It is so unfair that they have been treated so bad by the Abels, Carvin, Gelfarb and Noiras.

The Rye Town Employees should not be unfairly picked on just because Bernie "I Forgot To Pay Over 100 Property Tax Bills" Abel got caught cheating on his taxes again.

Plus Dominick Lagana's closing remarks at the debate brought on a spontaneous round of applause even though the League Of Women Voters asked that the audience not applaud for candidates.

The Only Local Governmental That Has Reduced Taxes Two Years In A Row Is The Town Of Rye.

The Village Of Port Chester, The Village Of Rye Brook and The Schools have all failed to reduce taxes like the Town Of Rye.

Unfortunately, The Village Of Rye Brook has not had a full blown New York State Comptroller's audit since the 1990's.

The Office of the State Comptroller needs to audit the Village Of Rye Brook.

A State Controller Audit help ensure that Rye Brook funds are used efficiently, and assets are adequately protected against fraud, waste and abuse.

Year after year after year Rye Brook's own internal auditors have repeatedly said, "We can not express an opinion on the effectiveness of the village's internal control over financial reporting. Accordingly, we express no such opinion."

This reporter has personally set at Rye Town Board Meetings and repeatedly overheard Joe Carvin, Janus Richards, Sam Terenzi, Bernie and Richard Abel comment about Rye Brook Mayor Lawrence Rand and the whether Rye Brook is operating economically or efficiently. They even have speculated on if Rye Brook has complied with all the laws of New York State.

I have also heard Joe Carvin, Janus Richards, Sam Terenzi, Bernie and Richard Abel speculate on if Rye Brook has inefficiencies of uneconomical practices.

I have often said that it not is said at government meetings while the cameras are on that is not very interesting. It is what is said before and after government meetings when the cameras are turned off.

You can really hear an ear full after Rye Town Board Meetings when Joe Carvin, Janus Richards and Sam Terenzi get ready to take Port Chester Republican Billy Vilanova and the disgruntled founder and the publisher of the Westmore News to the Port Chester Coach Diner to talk about hogwash the Abels will print in their hopelessly biased newspaper.

However, I must say all this political chatter from Joe Carvin and his disgruntled band of close advisers concerns me, because let's face it Joe Carvin often tries to present himself as some sort of wanna be expert on government audits.

Yes it is true that it is kind of spooky how Joe Carvin has became sort of a magnet for disgruntled and sleazy opportunists with checkered pasts.

Yes it is also true that most intelligent thinking persons just ignore the Bernie Abels and Sam Terenzis of this world.

Further, I argue that it is better to be safe than sorry.

Let's face it a lot of elections in Rye Brook go uncontested election cycle after election cycle after election cycle.

Rye Brook Government has sort of turned into an Old Girl's Club, where local politicians try to keep each other's skirts down.

Please join Joe Carvin, Janus Richards, Sam Terenzi, Bernie Abel, Richard Abel and I as we demand that Rye Brook to submit to a full blown State Controller's Audit.

It is time for Rye Brook submit to a State Controller's Audit just like Port Chester, Rye City and Rye Town have.

If I have heard Rye Brook resident Dick Hubert say it once I have heard him say it a thousand times....

"We need financial transparency at all levels of government."

Rape suspect nabbed in Chicago is arraigned in Port Chester

A handcuffed and scruffy-looking 26-year-old man accused of raping a woman then running away to Chicago was arraigned on two felony charges in Village Court today and returned to jail without bail.

Federico Ordaz-Cejia appeared in a crowded courtroom in a white sleeveless T-shirt, disheveled black hair and a beard shadow. Three letters of an "Ordaz" tattoo arched across his back that police had included as part of the rape suspect description were easily seen.

The suspect nodded his head and said nothing as a court interpreter explained in Spanish the two charges against him - first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping, both carrying maximum sentences of 25 years in prison.

Cejia did not enter a plea during his brief appearance.

Fox Island Road: Neighbors of a noisy 6 a.m. party were hit with rocks Sunday after police asked a dozen revelers to go home. Three Port Chester men were charged with felony assault; a third is accused of interfering with the arrests and was also charged, police said. Police said one annoyed party-goer threw a brick at 30-year-old man from next door to the 62 Fox Island Road party, striking him in the head. Another threw a rock through that neighbor's window causing shards of glass to strike a 63-year-old woman in the face, police said. Both victims got stitches at Greenwich Hospital. A third woman was struck in the leg by a ricocheting rock, police said. Klever Guyallasaca, 23, of 54 Haseco Ave., his brother Jorge, 27, of 64 Smith St. and Manuel Guaman, 31, of 113 Haseco Ave. were charged with second-degree assault, a felony. Klever Guyallasaca was also charged with third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment, both misdemeanors. Manuel Pusha, 18, of 54 Fox Island Road was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, a misdemeanor. Police said Pusha put his hands on a police officer arresting one of the Guyallasacas and attempted to push him away.

Adee Street: A 20-year-old Norwalk, Conn., man who yelled at police and refused to move on at 3 a.m. Tuesday when he and another man were blocking a sidewalk left a small bag of cocaine in a police cruiser and was found to have a second bag in his pant pocket, police said. Coleman Pride was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation.

North Main Street: Police said a highly intoxicated 21-year-old rode his bicycle through the front window of Vinny's Lunch, 182 N. Main St., at 2:06 p.m. Saturday. Alejandro Jesus, no known address, did not require medical attention and was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, for the $400 in damage

Rye Town: Morabito gets easy win in supervisor race

Longtime Supervisor Robert Morabito swept to an easy victory over former town accountant Saverio Terenzi in the race for the Conservative line.

Morabito was ahead by a nearly 2-1 margin with 27 of 31 election districts reporting, according to unofficial results.

"I'm very grateful that the Conservatives thought that I was fiscally conservative enough to warrant their nomination," he said.

Both candidates were seeking the line in the race for the four-year, $17,150-a-year supervisor position, which Morabito has held for nearly 16 years.

Morabito, 51, who also has the Democratic and Working Families lines, said he is seeking re-election in order to see several projects to fruition, including the revaluation, an effort to reduce the town's carbon footprint and a plan with school districts and Rye Brook to build new ball fields at Port Chester Middle School.

He is the deputy commissioner of environmental facilities for Westchester County and a Port Chester resident.

Port Chester Next Stop for Soul Food Cook-Out African Affairs Office...

Chalking up the first ever Westchester County Soul Food Cook-Out earlier this summer as a success, the Office of African American Affairs is now planning for #2. The next free healthy cook-out event will be Sat., Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Weber Drive in Port Chester.

Just as the kick-off June event at Yosemite Park was geared to Greenburgh residents, this one is for the Port Chester community. The county particularly hopes for a good turnout from residents living in the neighboring Weber, Travis and Purdy housing complexes.

The Office of African American Affairs launched the community cook-out concept this summer as a creative way to encourage people -- especially in the Caribbean community -- to develop good nutritional habits. Student chefs from Westchester Community College will prepare favorite foods such as jerk chicken and an array of salads using healthier recipes and alternative ways of food preparation. Attendees get to sample the menu and take home the recipes.......

The plan to rehabilitate downtown Norwalk was approved last night by the Common Council's Planning Committee.

The mixed-use project stretching from Wall Street to West Avenue, and Leonard Street and Isaacs Street, will go for a vote before the council Monday.

The committee yesterday approved the plan's land disposition agreement - the contract between the city and developer that includes everything from the project's master site plan to blueprints, infrastructure requirements and eminent domain information.

Sound shore communities consider easing flood problems together

Property owners in most of the Westchester communities near Long Island Sound would be asked to pay a fee - perhaps $60 a year for each house - to support a new agency that would attack growing flood problems under a proposal outlined in a new report.

The report, commissioned by a group with representatives from 12 cities, towns and villages between the Bronx River and Long Island Sound, suggests a regional storm-water management district with a $7.2 million annual budget. 2 more candidates join Rye town supervisor race

At least two new candidates have emerged to challenge Town Supervisor Robert Morabito in the Nov. 6 election, including the man at the center of the federal voting rights lawsuit against Port Chester.

Besides Democrat Morabito and Republican Joseph Carvin, who announced their candidacies earlier, nominating petitions were filed last week with the county Board of Elections by Salverio Terenzi for the Conservative line and Cesar Ruiz for the Independence line.

A fifth candidate, Marcos Perez, filed a petition to run on the Working Families line, but later declined the nomination.....

...When contacted by telephone Perez, a friend of Ruiz's, said he was on the petition "because Cesar put me there." He said he did not have time to be town supervisor because he had a new job installing carpet that kept him too busy.

Ruiz also declined to comment for now on his reason for backing Perez and a slate of Working Families candidates.

In the race for two seats on the Rye Town Board, Jose Nieves and Ximena Alarcon are seeking the Independence line along with Ruiz. They would challenge Democratic incumbents Dominick Lagana and Michael Borrelli for the line. Republicans Robert Nioras and David Gelfarb also are running for the seats.....
