Police are searching for two people who duped a village woman out of $10,000 yesterday with promises that she would get $56,000 from the proceeds of a winning $356,000 lottery ticket.
A woman approached the 31-year-old victim on Westchester Avenue and claimed to have won the lottery, but couldn't cash the ticket because she didn't have a bank account. A man then appeared and pretended to call a lottery hotline to confirm the ticket was authentic....
... with them to her bank in Rye and withdrew $10,000 in "good faith" money for them. They then drove her back to Port Chester, pushed her out of the vehicle, and left. The woman con artist was described as Hispanic, 60, wearing blue jeans and a blue ...
