Police: Axe-Wielding PC Man Hits Girlfriend, Flees with Their 4-Month-Old Baby

imageThe Port Chester Police Department responded to three incidents on Sun. Apr. 17 - Mon. Apr. 18.

Police on Monday responded to a 911 call at 65 Wesley Ave. According to Lt. James Ladeairous, Sonaio Torres hit his unidentified 31-year-old girlfriend while she was holding their four-month-old baby and "threatened to break everything in the apartment, then took an axe and broke up her computer and cell phone."

Torres, 29, then took the baby from the woman, police said, and tried to leave the apartment building. Police said they responded quickly enough to stop Torres in the staircase and return the baby to the mother.

Torres was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, third degree assault, and criminal mischief in the second degree......
