PORT CHESTER POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE

The Village of Port Chester Police
Department has made an arrest in connection with the December 26,
2012 armed robbery of the Subway Sandwich Store located at 302
Midland Avenue.
Charged with one count of Robbery in
the first degree is John Mcfarlane, age 32, of 202 Federal Street
Bridgeport Connecticut, is currently being held in the Bridgeport
Correctional Center on unrelated charges as a result of this
investigation. The Port Chester Police Department is currently
seeking to extradite Mcfarlane from the State of Connecticut to face
this charge.
This Investigation is continuing as
efforts are being made to determine if this subject is related to
similar incidents in the New York area.
Mr. Macfarlane was released from State
prison in June of 2012, is currently on parole as a convicted felon,
and has a significant criminal history that includes offences
involving armed robbery.

that
Jaerue
Williams
(DOB
12/06/85)
of
59
Old
Mamaroneck
Road,
White
Plains,
New
York,
was
arraigned
today
on
a
three
count
indictment
charging
him
with:
- one count of Murder in the Second Degree, a class “A-1” Felony,
- one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, a class “B” Violent Felony,
- one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a class “C” Violent Felony, relating to a fatal shooting.
On
August
11,
2012,
at
approximately
12:15
am,
Port
Chester
Police
responded
to
16
South
Regent
Street
on
a
report
of
a
shooting.
The
victim,
21
year
old
Wilfredo
Rivera,
had
been
transported
to
Greenwich
Hospital
by
several
friends.
Rivera,
who
was
shot
once
in
the
chest
at
close
range,
was
pronounced
dead
by
hospital
personnel.
Port
Chester
Police
began
an
investigation
and
subsequently
identified
the
defendant
as
the
shooter.
The
defendant
was
already
in
custody
after
being
arrested
on
August
18,
2012
on
a
parole
violation
stemming
from
2010
felony
convictions
on
Criminal
Possession
of
Stolen
Property
in
the
Fourth
Degree
in
Mount
Vernon
and
Attempted
Criminal
Possession
of
a
Weapon
in
the
Third
Degree
in
Mamaroneck
Village.
Subsequently,
the
defendant
was
indicted
on
September
26,
2012
in
connection
with
a
home
burglary
in
Larchmont
on
charges
of:
- one count of Burglary in the Second Degree, a class “C” Violent Felony,
- one count of Petit Larceny in the First Degree, a class “A” Misdemeanor,
- two counts of Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, class “A” Misdemeanors.
Larchmont
Police
identified
the
defendant
during
the
course
of
an
investigation
into
a
residential
burglary
that
was
reported
on
August
12,
2012
at
approximately
4:25
am
and
was
captured
on
video
surveillance.
The
next
court
date
in
the
murder
case
is
January
22,
2013.
The
defendant
faces
a
maximum
sentence
of
25
years
to
life
in
state
prison
on
the
top
count
of
the
murder
indictment
and
up
to
15
years
in
state
prison
on
the
burglary
charge.
Following
the
arraignment,
District
Attorney
Janet
DiFiore
said,
“Collaborative
detective
work
in
several
jurisdictions
this
defendant
to
both
crimes
which
occurred
within
a
day
of
each
other.”
Assistant
District
Attorney
Wendy
Parra

the
Superior
Court
Trial
Division
is
prosecuting
the
murder
case.

the
burglary
case.
