Liz Czajkowski-Rotfeld If You Think Things Are Bad Now, Then Just Wait Until Bart Didden And Company Get Their Way And Hundreds And Hundreds And Hundreds And Hundreds And Hundreds And Hundreds And Hundreds And Hundreds Of Rental Apartment Units Are Built At The Old United Hospital Property. Liz We Are Going To Need To Build A New School And A New School Bus Yard To Handle This.

It Is Now Time For Today's Little Dose Of Comedy From "Making Port Chester A BITTER Place" The Group Founded By Bart Didden's Cousin Keith Morlino. .....

Elizabeth Czajkowski-Rotfeld Joe...I said it before - you have a lot of greedy landlords that are collecting an S load of money from their tenants. They are stuffing them in there like sardines. They get rich - move to another community leaving us with crowded schools and jeopardizing the safety of the tenants, and our dedicated public safety professionals. Let em pay. Better hope I never decide to run for elected office.

Now Here Is The Local Intelligent Policy Discussing From The Folks Who Supposedly Know How To Make Port Chester A Better Place.....

Reasonable Port Chester Homeowners Just Can't Wait Till Bart Didden's Cousin Keith Morlino Starts Sending His Committee Liaison People To Take Up The Time Of Village Employees With This Childish Nonsense.

If Folks At This Controversial Facebook Group Really Wanted To Make Port Chester A Better Place Then They Would Be Discussing This.......

Far too long Port Chester has suffered, because greedy self centered takers have been elected to positions of power in this village.

It is time to put the good of Port Chester first.

There are many issues coming up in Port Chester, like should hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of rental units to be built on the old United Hospital site.

This issue should pass or fail solely on if it is good or bad for the Village homeowners of Port Chester and it's schools.

Not on who may or may not benefit from the largess of Barry Sternlicht, Starwood Capital, Mill Creek Residential Trust or possibly Tri Pointe Homes.

Port Chester Mayor Dennis Pilla has said....

“Overall this is the single most important land use decision the Village of Port Chester will make possible the next 100 years, They are talking about adding hundreds of units, if they are units that are going to bring kids into the schools then frankly that’s a non-starter."

The Mayor has also said....

"The financials were underwhelming to me personally. There is a balancing act that we need to be mindful of here. If one of the kids needs special education it’s going to cost another $100,00."

All of the Port Chester Board of Trustees need to recognize that there are differing views on what the preferred development plan should be for this site.

However, we all agree that revitalizing this vacant and underutilized property and returning it to a productive use is vital for the future of the Village of Port Chester.

Finally, it seems that Port Chester is waking up and seeking out givers who will put the village first and truly make Port Chester A Better Place.

But make no mistake......

No matter what happens in Port Chester Starwood Capital Group And Tri Pointe Homes CEO Barry Sternlicht, is going to to laughing all the way to the bank once Tri-Point Homes IPO comes through.

Port Chester Is Part Of Sternlicht's Land pipeline.....

One of Tri Pointe's advantages is having a pipeline of land from Starwood, which has been acquiring lots since 2007, when prices were falling as demand for new homes collapsed. Selling Starwood land to Tri Pointe is a way for Sternlicht to be involved with both sides of the transaction, said Richard Gollis, principal at Newport Beach, California-based Concord Group, a real estate advisory firm.

"Having a public builder provides an additional opportunity to monetize their land inventory," Gollis said in a telephone interview.

"We made a big investment in residential land in '08 and '09 and we didn't lever that at all," Sternlicht said in a Nov. 30 interview with Bloomberg Radio. "We're just waiting for the markets to recover, which they are."

Starwood controlled more than 21,100 residential lots throughout the U.S. as of Sept. 30.

Personally, it appears that the honest hardworking homeowners of Port Chester are victims of a "bait and switch" and that Barry Sternlicht and Starwood Capital intended to build hundreds of residential units all along.

Unfortunately, village taxpayers may be left to clean up the mess, because some Port Chester Officials were wined, dined and pocket lined.

As Linda said above, go out and meet the candidates, and voice your opinion what they need to do to make Port Chester a better place.

I would only add that you should ask each candidate in what their position is on allowing hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of rental units to be built on the old United Hospital site.
