Photographer and cancer survivor Carolyn Taylor will discuss her photographs of women around the globe living with cancer on Thursday, March 24, at the Fairfield Public Library.
The photo show and discussion is slated for 7 p.m. in the Rotary Room of the main branch, 1080 Post Road.
Taylor, of Port Chester, N.Y., was in mid-career when she was diagnosed with ovarian and endometrial cancers in 2006. Inspired by her own ordeal and the experiences of other cancer survivors, she won a grant from British Airways and 10 free international flights to photograph women living with cancer.
She has photographed women in Nepal, India, Israel, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Kenya, and Tanzania. Now, she now plans to expand her project to include men and children
The program is cosponsored by the library and Connecticut Challenge, a network of cancer survivors. It is free but registration is required, either online at www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org or by calling 203-256-3160.
